Today I installed a 4 point hoist system in my garage to keep my topper on. It's working well so far (read: the topper hasn't fallen yet). I'm going to give it one night before moving my wife's van in underneath (which clears by inches...). I hope in time I won't be so nervous about it.

    CB antenna mount installed today:

    2015-02-15_5f4dedd9f9699fefe0bf8f530afbf88c15061135.jpg

The antenna shows up tomorrow. I got the cable routed up to the cab dash, going to wait to terminate it because I want to get a panel mount female so I can just connect my CB when in use and easily disconnect when not.

Tuned the antenna tonight, got pretty good SWR...

I also field tested it with my Dad on the exact same model CB, got 3-4 mile transmit range in a cold clear night.

    Thanks!

Crazy fun this weekend at Citrus at a big Tacoma meet, we had 40-50 trucks out there.

Somewhere along the line the dust cover on my rear passenger shock got loose, I had to pull the shock off to push the dust cover the rest of the way off and then re-seat it back on top.

Is there any spec of rust on your truck? The upward pictures showing your sway bar really shows just how immaculate this thing is...

There isn't much, I was really happy/lucky when I found this truck in such good shape. Now to clean it up after this weekend's activities :)

Tonight I pulled my steering wheel/column to fix a bit of play. I had heard of welding the shaft but recently I saw another approach of using a spring pin, which would be a lot easier for me to do. Test drive showed that the play was gone! and I didn't make the air bag go off, so that's good ;)

Truck is looking good! How is it without the sway bar?

Thanks! I really haven't noticed much of a difference daily driving without the swaybar, maybe a bit more lean when turning fast, nothing major though.

I plan to exercise it a bit more when I go wheeling again :)

Tonight the bull bar came off and a Curt front receiver was installed PN 31013. As I had read in some of the reviews the front mounting hole that you are instructed to enlarge was a good inch away from the slot in the receiver. This drove me to have to drill a new hole in the frame to allow for the 3rd mounting bolt. Other than that the install went smooth, I have future modifications plans for the receiver as well :)

A nice chunk of paint came off when removing some of the packing tape, I dislike that but you can't see it when installed so I moved on.

(That silver thing sticking out of the receiver isn't alien-esque, it's the bull bar laying in the grass next to the truck :p )

Tonight I added a "button" to the back of my CB, I have clip on order which I will mount to the dash. I had wanted to make a plate that comes out from two pieces of the dash to clip the CB too but there really didn't see an easy way to do it. So I'll just drill mounting holes in the the radio bezel and call it day :)

I also mounted my Bussmann circuit box in the engine bay. No wiring is done yet, but, one step at a time. With my bull bar gone I still have to find somewhere to mount the lights.

Bumper came off today to mount my D2 lights as I had lost my mounting points when the bull bar came off. I am not 100% happy with how the lights look mounted, but it'll do for now.
