Gear Head's Solid Axle Tacoma Build

I stumbled into a good deal and picked up another Tacoma. So happy to be back in one and can't wait to get started. Extended cab and fuel injection is going to be nice

How I brought it home

Specs:

1996 Tacoma
3rz 135k miles
w56 5 speed
39.5x13.50x17 Iroks
Dual 2.28/4.70 cases, Trail Gear adapter, Twin sticks
FJ60 front (9.5" third)
Arp Hub Studs
Arp Knuckle Studs
5.29's
Welded front
Unknown rear
Full PSC hydro (single ended ram)
Brand new in bag Corbeau Baja Ultra's
Flat bed
Home-made fuel cell that uses stock pump
Trail Gear 4" springs up front
Chevy 63's out back
98-00 Front end swap
Trail Gear bumper
1 piece rear shaft

I borrowed the 37's off my 82 to move it around

Looking at beginning if October, but that depends. I may get super anxious and knock it out this spring lol

Does that have the stock rear?!?
More I look at that tube bed the more I like it lol. Low, simple, clean, and can still haul some stuff...

Both cases are stock 2.28. I'm planning on taking the rear case out and putting it in the 82 and putting the 4.70 case that's in the 82 in the tacoma.

You got it. It uses the same style case that I have in the 82 which are gear driven, not chain driven like your tacoma case.

I have bedsides laying in the garage for it, just need to figure out some mounts. I may rework the flatbed a little to allow for a dovetail.

Lol it's already hacked up, and she got her first bit of tree damage this week end...

Do removable bed sides and don't even mess with a dove tail on a tube bed lol
Trees and rocks won't hurt tubing
