so i've been on here for a while and have benefitted from everybody's knowledge and experience. i've always liked going through the builds section and i've done some wrenching on my own truck. i bought the truck 4 years ago and wasn't able to do much by joining the navy and going off to play recruit for a little while. so here it is. its a '99 extended cab with the 2.7L 3rz.

first i decided i wanted to lift it so i installed the Revtec three inch spacer lift, which was really really easy to install and i liked it for street and mild trail riding. i don't have any photos of the install unfortunately. i threw some 33x10.5 inch BFG ATs under it.

i drove it like that for a while and figured my paint was looking kinda rough so i sprayed it with Krylon Camo OD green. i wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but its actually pretty nice. it doesn't leave the tell tale rattle can look. i wanted to do a paint scheme like that because i can take it on the trail and beat it up, then sand it down and spray it again without any problems.

    more to come

    thanks

i unfortunately had an accident and put my truck in a mud hole and hydrolocked my engine. what a bad day. i blew a hole in the sides of the block. it took me three months to replace it with a used 2001 3rz engine. at the same time i installed the lc engineering headers and made a custom 2.5 inch exhaust with a flowmaster super 44 muffler.

i'm thinking about pickin up some blacked out halo HIDs off ebay but i'm just not too sure about the ebay thing. my dads had great luck with getting parts for his Yamaha RZ500 and his plane. i'm just not too sure. i like the flat look and there is STILL way too much chrome on this thing

yeah those tires ended up being entirely too big for the suspension set up (35x12.5x15), which i had figured on. they were free and i wanted to see how much work it would be to get them to fit. yeah that didn't happen, so i bought some brand new 33x12.5x15 General Grabbers. the new ones with the badass tread and red lettered sidewalls. awesome rubber.

one year revival for sure, its been four years since I've started this thread and not much has happened since!! I've been to sea twice, wife's been to sea three times, and I've bought a house, Tundra, and had a little boy with another one on the way!! SOOO... the truck has fallen into a little bit of disrepair. i'm sitting at 130000 miles, the steering rack, inner/outer tie rods and CV axles have been replaced, OME springs/shocks and Toytec shackles, Bud Built control arm have been installed, 4x innovation tube doors have been added, INJEN(?) CAI installed, blown AC unit, and the steering pump is going. I've got some work to do but its still my baby and my wife still comes second. Thinking about getting it painted though, the olive drab is getting old, and wearing off...not sure where that black Toyota came from...
