Alright more detailed thread to come in the near future, but just put my UCAs and Coil-overs on today, and I want to share some pics.

Woke up this morning to find my front drivers tire was flat, and the spare had no air in it. I was forced to drive about a mile to the auto hobby shop, and ruined the tire. So excuse the shitty bald spare in the pictures.

New CO's on. Piece of cake.

Drivers side assembled. I didnt have to bend the fender to remove the long UCA bolt, it just popped straight out. The Pass. side required some work to take out, but not that tough. The problem we ran into on the drivers side was removing the ball joint from the spindle. We ended up disconnecting the tie rod ends and lower ball joint, and putting the whole assembly in a vice, but realized what we were doing wrong. Spent around 3 hours on the drivers side, and 45 minutes on the passenger side. It was a shitload easier once we knew what to do.

    P1010784_d83003586798ad801d7b8c00f178d3fd9b996154.jpg

We bent the dust cover up a bit on the drivers side, so it currently is rubbing on the rotor, and making a horrible grinding noise. Im going to pop the tire off tomorrow and fix it, and maybe take a look at my back brakes. I cant imagine they are too bad with only 62xxx miles on em, but since they are squeeking and i just replaced the front pads about 3xxx ago, I might as well. Getting paid Tuesday night, so Wednesday will finally see my rims get tires put on, and I dont gotta drive around with the shitty stock rims. Trying to decide between 265s and 285s, because I have a 4 banger and dont want to regear or adjust my speedo if i can help it.

My truck is sooo much higher in the front now though, and the coilovers can still go up another inch, plus if i got 285s they would be roughly 4.5 inches larger over all than my stock 225s. So I can still go up 3 more inches...

    P1010786_ef7e79d7f360dd6265866f35e1da6a4fb4a00877.jpg

Only took 2 and a half months, but its starting to come together.

Very nice! What tires do you plan to go with? Maybe ask the tire shop if they can try both the 265's and 285's to make a final decision.

The shop is pretty good. At least something on Lejeune is.

I dont know what tires they are gonna be. If i had the money i would get some BFG T/A KOs, but Ive dropped too much money as of late to afford em. There is a tire shop out in town that quoted me 355$ for five used 285/70/R16s mounted and balanced. Lot of people here just buy new tires for their trucks and SUVs right away, so they should have substantial tread left. Ill take a look at em before I buy just to make sure. Putting those on the silver FJ TRD rims. I need a bed mount for a spare tire though. Anybody got a suggestion?

I dont like the look of seeing the tire hanging underneath with my new bumper on there. And i dont wanna ruin the new rim and tire by exposing it to all the shit spashing up from the ground. Heres a pic of the tire/bumper.

Oh I see. I can't think of any tire carriers for the 1st gens off the top of my head.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys!

Didnt get anything more done today. I need to get a grease gun to lube up the UCA joints, which are still bone dry, so I havent been driving much. I am having some vibrations through the brake pedel on occasion when i brake, dunno what is causing it. Hopefully I can pull the tire off tomorrow and take a look at it. Some brackets I ordered a month and a half ago came in today. My 300 dollar racing seats, which have been serving as video game chairs ever since i got them, will FINALLY get installed tomorrow. Bench seats blow... Ill put some pics up after that happens.

Yes that is an All Pro bumper i got from the group buy a little while ago. I painted it with Rustoleum Spray on Bed Liner, and i am quite pleased with the result. You just gotta be careful and go SUPER light on the coats till you build it up, because it will run like crazy on even a medium thickness (which happened to me). I also have the Rough Country 1.5" fender flares on, and a K&N CAI kit.
    P1010743_dd53307ca98d06f8de04b5ce3b068d34638d9905.jpg

Also have an Alpine Type R 10" behind the seat, and the doors are saw-zalled out to hold 6x9 speakers instead of the shitty 6.5s or whatever size comes stock.
    P1010740_913d34d75038e727ac260fcfca54548d4a7bd56c.jpg

I have the black mesh GrillCraft grill, but no pic right now. And I also night shaded my tail lights.
I really like the one in the last link on the green truck. I am gonna need a high lift jack soon, and thats a sweet carrier.

    Progress for the day:
    P1010795_9ba356e54ad96203cbee47c2478c344d3f7e4d2f.jpg

Put the racing seats in today. Took about a good 2 hours, because the brackets were confusing to put on the seats. The heads of the bolts are too long, so it wont cycle forward and back the full length of the sliders... I debated cutting em down with my little baby hack saw, but decided to just put em on as is.

    Before:
    P1010791_1e3b01b9f304c11fdb85725efddae452dc4653ab.jpg

    Bench seat taken out:
    P1010793_17ff5c936772a30f1dd3ec8a464ec3706b92f0c0.jpg

    P1010794_44613415c8eb6af4a9ca43bdcc1f5c8ef6a4645f.jpg
(In the upper left corner you can see a 45,000$ Salen Mustang getting repo-ed while i was working... hahaha!)

Sub sitting between the seats as an arm rest:
    P1010796_e38a616757b701d29ea9da2d203b74ff2d6fe8e8.jpg

And took some pics of the badgeless grill:
    P1010797_cc892be4986677a8003d9537a6d559f18cfb6fd7.jpg
    P1010798_bd5e849e9b38a79cd4e1ee164d23c49afe0058c7.jpg
Forgive the spare semi-flat tire on the front drivers side.... No money till wed. for new ones.

And finally after about 2 and a half months of waiting, my rear shocks i ordered from demello offroad arrived. However, they were not the 5100's as advertised. They are the 5125's. Anybody know the difference? I have limited internet access right now and dont have the time to look it all up. And my steel braided brake line never came from DO, which is irritating, because i dropped 2 grand with them a long time ago, and i never recieved it. Also, even though it was not in the description of the ICON stage 2 kit, you would think that for 2 grand it would include a BPV, but again, no such luck. Anybody know exactly how far i need to drop it down? Ill just fashion something out of sheet metal.

Enough of the ranting and raving. Im just happy that i finally got the shocks. Most likely the rear end components will get installed on saturday.

Doesn't look like you are going anywhere with those seats in

The 5125's are longer length shocks so you got an upgrade as long as they mount up properly. I'm not sure about the 1st gens. Look at how it mounts to the axle and frame and make sure it matches the stock ones. If not you either need to return them or get an adapter. You may also need new rear brake lines with the extended shocks.

Overall probably 5 or 6 inches higher with the new suspension and tires. Finally the truck looks good. All i need is a new front bumper now... and maybe those 3" spindles.... and a 4WD conversion.... I guess its not nearly done.
