I just scanned a few pics of my first Toyota, 1986 Pick up, 22R engine. I had it for almost 10 years and sold it 6 years ago. Pics were taken just before the engine was rebuilt hence the spare engine in the box.

I just ordered some suspension parts for my Tacoma. More pics to come once everything is installed.

I got some spare cash to spend on the truck and here's my plan but I need to know if it will all fit together?

Wheel Size: 16X8
6 on 5.5 Bolt Pattern
Offset: -12
Backspace: 4
Bilstein 5100/toytec coilovers
Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac LT285/75R16E1 126P W

Would all this fit together without rubbing?

Thanks for your help

buzzard1992 10-05-2012 05:59 PM

Everything should work. You might rub a little but nothin major. Good lookin truck man

bellero 10-06-2012 09:26 AM

Thanks buddy.

buzzard1992 10-06-2012 11:22 AM

No problem man! I'm jealous of the snow pictures. We don't get much of that down here haha

Did the deckplate mod today, also installed new spark plugs, NGK wires, Karlyn/STI ignition coils and replaced the PCV valve. The engine runs a little smoother now, especially when shifting.

Nice. How do you like the deck plate mod?

Well it's hard to tell since I replaced the spark plugs, wires and ignition coils at the same time I did the deck plate mod. The truck definitely runs smoother now, especially when shifting gears.

Today I picked up a bunch of parts I had ordered. In the next few days, I'll be testing my limited mechanical skills by trying to put all of this together! Should be interesting!! :rolleyes:

Alcan leaf springs
Drop diff kit
URD short throw shifter kit.
Rear Bilstein
Extended rear brake line.

I realized I need taller jack stand and a few tools I don't have before I can go ahead with the suspension install.

I did however install the URD short throw shifter. Took about an hour and everything worked as was supposed to. I really love the way it now shifts and the reverse gear is even easier to find than before. Very well designed kit, I highly recommend it!

Nice truck, looking forward to seeing your suspension install, as that's next on my list as well!

Thanks guys, I'm going deer hunting tomorrow, I'll be gone for a week so the mods will resume upon my return.

bellero 10-24-2012 03:30 PM

I did some easy mods today,

Removed the little tab on the heater knob;

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y81...7/DSC03486.jpg

Bought black light covers to replace the flashy yellow ones;

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y81...7/DSC03482.jpg

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y81...7/DSC03484.jpg
Replaced the cup holders tabs, I used the wife's old yoga mat but I will have to redo this with something like rubber because the yoga mat material is too flimsy, need a stiffer material.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y81...7/DSC03485.jpg

Also picked up my new wheels at the ups store;
