Hey everyone I got a question about my brothers 04 tacoma trd i'm sure this has ben asked before but i searched and could not find an answer. I'm a chevy guy and i appoligize as i'm new here and not that familar with tacos. We installed 5100's and set them at 2.5" he jumped the gun and ordered a set a 285/75r 16 michelin at2 and procomp steel 16x8 with 4.5 backspacing because the guy on the phone said they should fit with his lift. According to michelin they are 32.7" and with out the tires here yet to look at i'm sure they're going to be some trimming involved. How much cutting is going to be needed with this set up should he ordered a body lift??? thanks, mark

NO BODY LIFT....and probably just some light trimming...maybe beating the pinch weld.

^thats good to hear hopefully they should fit easily, he's got worn out 255/75's 16 on there right now and by estimating theres only 1.5" of clearance between the wheel and cab mount/wheel liner right now i guess we'll have to wait and see.

I have OME 881 coils and a 3/8" spacer, which gave me about 2.5" of lift. I just stepped up to 285's w/ 16x8 w/ 4.5" BS wheels and I have zero rubbing on the street. I trimmed the plastic over the pinch weld to be safe, however, it didn't rub before I cut the plastic.

This only applies to on street driving, I can guaranty it will rub if flexed off-road.
