I know very original name, Yoda, has 403k miles on the original engine and gearbox, no power steering(broken), is green and slow, but when its time to exit the pavement, the little truck kicks ass.

I bought Yoda from a friend for $2000 with 350k miles on it, I had been around the truck for the last 200k when he bought it from his friend. I have had the truck about 1.5 years and have slowly been making it into an overland / expedition Tacoma.

I still have a lot to do to the truck, but here is what I have accomplished over the past 1.5 years.

    Specs

    2000 Tacoma Hybrid
    SR5
    Manual 5spd
    4x4
    2.7L 3RZ

    Major things replaced
    Clutch

In July of 2014 I was in a little fender bender, t-boned a Jetta going perpendicular to the flow of traffic through a parking lot.. she had been driving 1 week, didn't know she couldn't just fly through parking lots.. Insurance totaled my truck for 6500! So I bought it back from insurance for 1900 and used the left over to buy bumpers :)

I got hit 600 miles before the 400k mile mark.. so for Yoda's "birthday" we went to hidden falls, he got to wear a party hat and a Pinata. I figured if I hit anyone without a bumper I would be really sad, but since candy would shoot out, it would make the accident bearable.

How easily did the 4Runner seats go in? Any photos? Are they a direct fit?

    @LCS15 which coils?

BCollett - super easy! I'll get some photos tomorrow.

Basically 3 of the 4 feet line up perfectly and one was off, so we cut the foot that didn't line of off the 4Runner mount. The top right if I'm not mistaken. Then cut the top right foot off of the old tacoma seat mount and used a nut, bolt and lock washer to fasten the foot to the 4Runner seat mount. All in all took about 2 hours to entirely swap seats and "make" them fit.

So much more comfortable. You will also need to find a center console, since they are buckets. Just haven't done that yet, the dog fits in between quite well.

Any 3rd gen sr5 or sport, some of the older 90s basic runners have flat seats. The sport and newer SR5 have huggier seats

    Mine were from a 01

Sorry for the super late response, here are the photos of the inside, and today I put in a center console from a 4 door 2004 Tacoma.
