    Talked to the guy today. It's at a wrecking yard and has no wiring or switch. He doesn't know what gears are in it and say it should be good and running.

    Anyone know how hard it would be to wire this up? Or if anyone sells a wiring kit?.

    What are some ways to inspect a rear end when it's off a car? Is there a way to find out the gears? Maybe rotating the brake drum and counting the yoke rotations?

    Wonder if there is part numbers stamped on the axle somewhere. That should tell me the ratio. I'm gonna make the trip for it Friday. Even if it doesn't work out I can resell it easy to make my money back for sure.

    I think its 12voltguy.com he makes a direct bolt on wiring kit for the elocker rear axle...as for the ratio im not to sure but if it spins freely and theres not metal chucks in the diff I would buy it...

    if its the full axle then you should just be able to turn the diff and count how many rotations its spins with one of the diff. You'll be able to tell, if its basicly 4, ten its 4.10. A little more, then it could be 4.30 or higher.

    So if I rotate the drum 4 times and the yoke rotates 10 times it's a 4:10?

    From what I've read you rotate the drum 10 times and count the axle rotations than divide?

    How would I check for metal particles in the fluid? I imagine I'd need to get a sample of the diff fluid from the bottom. How would you guys get that done with out draining it all?

    No for every 4.1 turns of the drive shaft there would be one rotation of the wheel.

    Yeah I was thinking ground too but it looks like a hollow rubber tube? Maybe a vacume line going into the e lock motor. but that barely makes any sense to me ha ha. To bad I don't have abs cuz this ones got it.
