Just curious, outta it being supercharged, the rear mount, and your current set up what would you say was best? Like why take off the charger? And why not keep your rear mount? Just wondering cuz I dont know poop about turbos.

The right sized turbo mathed to a motor is always better then a SC. I don't care who says otherwise, its the truth. Why? You can drive much more boost out of a turbo then a SC thus more power potential. A rear mount is farther from the manifolds, both intake and exhauts so there is much more piping. This adds to turbo lag. So with his custom front mount manifold its closer to both manifold, more importantly the exhaust so spool happens quicker when you mash the gas pedal because the exhaust spins the turbo faster. This turbo will spoon VERY fast. It has a .58 A/R ration on the exhuast housing side. This has to do with the distance from the housing and the fan and a few other things. Since its a very tight A/R, exhaust flows out of the turbo faster which spins the turbo faster. A MUST really for our non forced induction motors whos RPM band is pretty small. Its inducer wheel isn't huge either, a 60-1 is a bigger turbo, but not like gigantic so the the exhuast fan doesn't have to turn a lot of weight. Thus, faster spool. I think most 60-1s are like a 58-62mm inducer wheel?:notsure: I can't remember...But like my supras turbo has a .58A/R so that side of the turbo is the same, but i have a 67mm inducer wheel which is pretty large so if you put my turbo and his ont he same car, his would spool faster due to a smaller inducer. Mine would create more power tho because 5psi out of a 60-1 isn't the same as 5psi out of a 67mm turbo. But thats gettting really indepth lol also A/R ratios are a give and take. Smaller A/R ratios don't breath as well in the upper RPMs(6-8k) so .78 and larger is more popular on cars that actually rev that high so they don't get "choked" off the say, but the add lag with a larger A/R. With our trucks tho, we red line a 5.5k so a smaller A/R is great as we never hit that problem.

basically, with a set up like this and the right fuel manegment and deliverly. You could get WAY more power out of it then a TRD SC...A LOT more power. and have little to no lag. i am willing to bet this thing hits boost around 1.5-2k. You could always get a 57 trim turbo too for even faster boost.

thats just kinda a tiny bit of info on turbo stuff..

    thanks for the info.
Yes like he said, the setup has way more potential for power. I was sick of the supercharger. I made 250hp260tq with all the boltons except NOS. Our heatsoaked superchargers suck. It was just too slow. I went rear mount and was happy with it but I wanted a megasquirt for the truck and the shop that did the megasquirt offered a package deal to move my turbo up. Now after a wiring issue in my harness, injector problem(guy sold me shitty ones) I got fed up and needed a ride to work. So now its up for sale

Do it Monte, then come meet me and you can convince me to get one. Im still leaning towards an S/C. Just because I dont have enough knowledge on turbos and the S/C seems more user friendly in my case.

I wish! My dad would kill me too lol

Yea turboing is a bit more touchy and takes more work, but DAMN they are more efficient and make more power.

    v4...lol
