I'm selling my 10" JL Stealthbox out of my 96 tacoma 4x4. My wife and I want to have children soon, and my Taco isn't the ideal baby transporting vehicle (or so she thinks). I had it in my truck for about 6 months, running off a JL amp and it sounded excellent. Extremely tight and clean bass.

For 1st generation Tacoma's it is without a doubt the best quality sound you can find and still retain use of your back seats and under seat storage. That's the reason I bought it. The condition is immaculate. By looking at it, you can't even tell it was installed. Built by JL specifically for the 1st gen Tacomas and has the factory brown or "oak" colored carpet. Could change carpet color if you wished. The best thing about it is you can't even tell it's a subwoofer when installed. Have had friends sit in the back next to it and think it was just a factory armrest.

Since I'm selling my Tacoma, I have little use for it being it will only fit our trucks . I have the original receipt and documentation of professional install and removal. Paid $600 new. Am asking a fair $275. Let me know if you have questions.

Don't have any pictures I can find of it installed, but would be happy to go reinstall it if you need to see how it works. Let me know.

Looks like it would be a tight fit with a 60/40 bench seat like mine because the back of the arm rest sticks out kinda far.

    Sorry guys.. sold it yesterday.

To answer your questions though- The sub box itself is a thick fiberglass layup, covered in carpet. On the back of the box it has a flat piece of steel bar that mounts just above where your factory backseat seatbelt connector holder (plastic piece that holds the seatbelt ends) mounts. It bolts to your truck with big ass bolts (3/4 or so) that you're not getting out without a impact gun. Basically, there's no worry about someone stealing it because without an air driver or power it ain't going anywhere- even then it would take some work. It is down firing and retains the use of both the 60/40 bench and armrest. You have to move the front seats up a bit to raise the center console as the sub box tucks up close to it, but it will work.

Wish I still had pics of it installed but I will say that it looks so clean mounted that even looking in the windows, you can't tell what it is. My friends have sat right next to it, resting their arms on top the the box like an armrest, and asked me "where is your sub at?". The bass is not going to rip your face off, but it is probably the best quality sound you can get into these trucks without serious modification. Hope this helps.

Don't suppose anyone would know the mounting depth of this box? I can't seem to find any specs on just the box..
