    Hi all,
I have a 2002 Tacoma 4cly. 2.7 liter. I bought this truck from my brother and I was planning on fixing it up but I just don't have time for it. I would like to sell it. This truck has 220,000 miles. There are things wrong with it. I am going to be as honest as I can be so here goes. I had the clutch replaced this past fall. It cost about $900 for the kit and labor. This past weekend when I let the clutch out and the truck was in neutral I could hear a noise. I am not a mechanic and don't know a thing about how a clutch works. I took it back to the shop where I had it repaired and the mechanic seems to think it could be a bearing of some sort in the transmission. The noise is very faint and most of the time I don't hear it at all. The truck is still there and I am picking it up this weekend. I will post more pics on Sunday. I will have him write down what he thinks the problem is and post it.

Next the check engine light was on and I had the same mechanic install the "upstream" and "downstream" O2 sensors. He said one is in the front I think that is the upstream and one is in the back, I think that is the downstream. You guys probably know better than I do. He tells me this fixed the engine light coming on.

Next the interior is pretty dirty and the drivers seat is ripped a little. Again I will post pics.

Last the 4wd was not working. I had this fixed. He said it was the actuator and a relay that was the problem.Cost about $650 and the work was done a few weeks ago.

There was an exhaust leak coming from the manifold and I had the manifold replaced. No more leak.

This is a great project truck for someone who wants to buy it and fix it up.Mostly you will need to fix up the interior. The exterior is in pretty good shape. There is a dent near the drivers mirror that looks like could be pulled out pretty easily. I really enjoy driving the truck and it runs well. I have been driving it back and forth to work. I wish I had the time an money to put into it because it has a lot of potenital. If you are interested in buying it all I can say is you will need to fix it up if you want a "nice" truck. Or you can drive it as is. I am selling as is. If you want a nicer truck you will spend more money but if you want the truck to fix up this is a good one for just that. If interested send me an email to drshirk@gmail.com. If you are really interested after you email I will give you my phone number and we can discuss it. I will get more pics this weekend. Probably Sunday. The pictures I am posting right now where taken a while back.I live in Charlotte, NC area. You will have to pick it up if you purchase it.

I am really not sure what kind of wheels they are they were on the truck when I bought it from my brother. I don't know alot about the tacomas or cars in general. By looking at how much these vehicles sell for in my area and taking into consideration the condition of the truck, I think this is a fair price. My biggest problem that I do not like is the condition of the interior. It is just dirty. The door panels and seats are not very clean. I have not tried to clean them and they would probably clean up a bit. I just don't have time to work on the truck. I will answer any questions as fast as I can and I will be honest with you. I just want to set the expectation that you will need to clean it up, but like I said the truck runs great and I enjoy driving it. It is a fun truck to drive. If anyone is interested email me at drshirk@gmail.com

    Thanks.

I couldn't get more pics today. I went to the shop on Friday to pick the truck up but they were closed for Good Friday. I hope to pick it up on Tuesday evening. Then I will get more pictures.

I am picking the truck up this evening from the shop. I just had the rear 02 sensor replaced as well. I will take more pics of the truck either this evening or most likely tomorrow when I get off work. I want to get my stuff out of it before I take pictures. Will that work for you? I will text you my phone number if you would like to call and talk about it feel free.

    Thanks,

Frame is good. Should have a clean carfax as far as I know. The gas gauge works. I was on empty.
