Hi all, I wish I would have joined this forum along time ago! Now unfortunately I have lost my baby due to frame rust perforation. I really, REALLY loved my Tacoma and I refused to take the Toyota buy back money 2 years ago. But back in August I was getting ready to install this lift and as I was scraping the bubbling undercoating from the frame my scraper went straight through. That's when I new it was time for me to make a decision. I stripped everything from the truck that I could, and even swapped the engine into my buddies high mileage '97 4runner before the Taco was crushed. So being the Toyota lover that I am, I decided to pick up an '08 FJ Cruiser Trail Teams edition as a replacement. I now have this complete lift kit lying around taking up space that I cant use, and I would love to see it go to good use on one of your guys trucks. Some parts were installed on the truck for about a week but NEVER driven on, like the front shocks, but most are still brand new. I have over $2000 into this setup but am only asking $1800. I might be willing to part out. I am located in Rockford, Illinois.

haha yes, this is about the best way to lift your truck. After this kind of kit you get into high performance mid and long travel kits, but this is still a really good mid travel kit!

The short answer is yes. The best part of doing it this way is the rear leaf springs. Allot of people go the cheap route lifting the rear with an axle spacer or with extended shackles which can create a harsh ride or improper drive line angles. The OME Dakar leaf springs will give you the proper lift height in the rear while providing a very nice enjoyable ride. The front coil overs are adjustable so you can dial in the proper amount of front lift. The diff drop kit will keep your front axles closer to the factory geometry so that you don't blow out cv joints. The adjustable upper control arms correct for camber with the new lifted height preventing the ball joints from binding. And the Energy Suspensions bushings will make the truck ride like new again.

Main frame. I live in Illinois as well and have 5100's on the front. Can i jack up my front to 2.5 and sit level with those rear leafs ?

I'm not totally sure on that one man, it would be a good question to be answered by one of the senior members on here. I never actually got to lift the truck to see exactly what it would do, but I do know the front coilovers came preset to 3" of lift and ToyTec told me the 2 1/4" rear lift would level out the truck. So I am assuming that with only 2 1/2" of front lift you would maintain some of the factory rake.

You would probably still have a little bit of rake but it wouldn't be much at all. The general rule is an inch more of lift in the front over the rear will yield a level truck. So 2.5in out front would call for 1.5-2in out back and it should be close to level. I'm a fan of a level truck and if it helps any I'm looking at going with toytec coilovers set to 2.5in with dakars in the rear.

Another thing to consider is that your stock springs are probably pretty tired so setting your 5100's at 2.5 may not yield 2.5in of lift. You may only get 2 or so.
