OBDII Protocol -- PWM or VPW???

Does anyone know which OBDII protocol is used on 1st Gen Tacomas? Reason I'm curious is for ScanGaugeII (XGauge) programming purposes.

I found this diagram on the web.
My 1996 Tacoma 2.4L has pins 2, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 which means the protocol could be PWM, or VPW, or both.

Any ideas?

 

I'm not certain, but is there a specific reading you're looking for?

The only ones I've been able to find that work (in addition to most of the pre-programmed ones) on my 2002 are:

Some of the XGauge codes are for ISO and VPW protocols. The codes for PWM protocols are different.

If I wanted to use the ScanGaugeII on a newer Toyota (ISO protocol), the XGauge PWM codes won't be compatible.
