Havn't tackled the tranny yet, but I run Mobile1 full synthetic in the motor and the differentials.......5w-30 for motor and 75w-90 for diff.

Trans: T-IV (but recommend that you check w/Toyota regarding what they recommend for your year Tacoma).

Motor: Mobil 1 (5/10-30w)...I'm aware that the oil cap indicates 5-30w.

Diff: Mobil 1 (75-90w)...I've seen different weights indicated in different Toyota publications --> I've seen one that indicates 80-90w, but I've seen another that indicates 75-90w. Don't think it makes a difference...just my opinion though.

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.

x2!! This is what I run, and have for a LLllllooooonnnnnnggggggg time!
As for the capacities, check your owners manual. For the rear diff, just fill till it starts to come out the fill hole.

As far as I know to change out the tranny fluid just pull the plug and fill it up with I think its Dexron 2. (put drain plug back in before filling) lol

I dont think they have a tranny filter on them

if they do someone let me know so i can change mine.

I assume you're talking about a manual tranny?

If YES - just drain & fill (obviously, make sure you know where the drain & fill are). On my previously owned 96 - I used Mobile 1 75W-90 gear oil in everything (tranny, diffs, t-case) for 5 years without any problems

If you odff road change the Gear oil after a wet run.

if you drive streets only change them less often. When i had access to lift and free oils I changed them every other oil change. but that was becuase it was free.

Now I do not have a lift every 30K miles for tranny and diff.
Oil every 3 to 5 with mobel 1 5W30 from walmart. it is cheaper there.
