1998 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner

Hey Im new to the site. Ive been looking for a good wheel and tire package. Preferrably 20 inch chrome wheels with some nice gripped all terrain tires. Mud tires wouldnt do me any good since the prerunner is a 2 wheel drive. Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to a wheel and tire package?

Why ruin your truck? 20 inch rims are also not going to ride very well. Save your money; those stock rims you have on your truck are probably the best looking stock rims on a truck.

If he wants 20's than let him get 20's! Its his truck not yours.

As tigerfan said, look into the Nitto tires. They seem to perform well both on and off road.

indeed
biggest rims i ever had were 18s on low pro tires and i went through about 4 sets of tires in 6 months
i guess maybe if you have more rubber around them MAYBE
but idk its a truck

1st off: Welcome to TacomaWorld!!!

Now as far as you wheel and tires go, I would HIGHLY reccomend you NOT get 20s. As Yota32 said, 20's will run like shit because the largest tire your'e gonna be able to run is about a 33. So that will only give you a little bitty sidewall which will not only look gay, but it will ride like shit, be really bad for offroading, and will cost you quite a bit of money. As a general rule of thumb, the cost of tires has about a 30% increase per inch in diameter you increase on the wheel. If you want to be able to put tires on the truck after you buy wheels, go with something smaller. If you like big rims but want to stay within a reasonable budget for tires, 17-18 would be your best bet. The trucks come stock with 16's, you can go as small as 15's, but I wouldn't go bigger than 17's. As for me, I would NEVER put 20's on a vehicle that's more than 5" off the ground. It's a truck, eventhough it's a PreRunner (4X2), it's still a truck and would look best with smaller wheels and bigger tires.

But as many other people said, you should do what YOU think will look best. It's your truck and you're the one who has to drive it so do what you think will look good. We just say what we think will look and perform the best.

Good luck!!!

I was looking for more of a wheel like this. I like the big wheels but one of my buddies has 18s with mud grapplers and they look good.
As far as i tires I was thinking either the cooper zeon
Or the nittor terra grappler.

I was kinda aiming towards these ideas. Any input would really be appreciated before i go dump a few grand into wheels and tires.

Like I said before, I would go with a smaller rim. The bigger the rim the less side wall you'll have. This will create a terrible ride; you will also have to drive around pot holes and such because you could more easily puncture you tire and damager your rim. Someone said 17 inch max and I have to agree. But again, do what you want. I just think you'd be better off putting your money else where.

I think it looks great now. Tint smoke your stock taillights and put them back on the truck. Your rims look great now.
