Does anyone know what the grey color is called on standard 2001-2004 tacoma front steel bumper? Or a close match? Reason Im asking is bc my buddies truck bumper paint is faded and we want to find a spray paint to closley match the stock color. Thanks

Another option instead of painting it is to use some Back to Black armor all on it. Shines it up to black, yet if a rock chips the plastic it doesn't have any paint that chips as it just hits the plastic.

Hmmm, I think he means the steel bumper, not the plastic trim under it. I think this because he said STEEL BUMPER.

I am guessing you mean the dark gunmetal gray color that would be chrome on an SR5?

I want to know what it is called, too, because I was thinking of getting rid of my chrome and using the gray non-SR5 bumpers, but I have not been abel to find the name of the color either...

Is he just looking for the Lunar Mist Metallic paint? Or is it a different color?

We found some paint at advance auto. Its a maker match grey color for chrysler but it matched up pretty well to the grille. We used aircraft stripper and took the bumper to the metal, cleaned it up and sprayed it. Ill try and get picks.

I would clear coat it with several layers. It will help protect it from rocks.

I repainted my and it helps a lot

Hey . . . I'm new to this site. Had the same question I see asked here several times . . . really, without an answer. Lots of guesses and some "odd" ideas, but no real answers. My truck is a (newly acquired to me) '04 red "base" Tacoma 2wd. So, I went to the Toyota Collision Center and asked them. The color is Toyota paint code #196, which has two different names for the same color code: Pewter Metallic and/or Gray Pearl Metallic. Hope this helps.
