    i get a little upset when a grandma passes me and im holding it to the floor. haha. suggestions?

    you have a DC 4cycl that sucks man...other than exhaust system, CAI, or deckplate there is nothing really unless you wanna supercharge it!! but i am more of a turbocharger type of guy :)

    my 4 banger is slugish in the Reg cab i cant imagine a loaded down DC :(

    Yes it does suck having a DC 4cyl. :( why would toyota even consider this? lol

    Yeah, The people complaining about the lack of power in their four bangers must not have test drove their trucks.

    I'm happy with mine since I'm not in a hurry.
    It will cruise at 75 MPH on the interstate.

    Toyota could put a little more juice in the 2.7 via a displacement increase, turbo,SC, or whatever but that would hurt the 4.0 sales. My wife has a 2010 Outback four cylinder that has plenty of power so don't say it can't be done.

    Of course a 3.0l turbo diesel would be the cat's meow. Power plus MPH.

    Yeah well mine was passed down by my dad. ( my first truck was a 1985 Chevrolet C10.) after we come to the conclusion to make it a weekend truck. he gave me his tacoma (which i always loved) and he got a jeep. but yeah its just a little weak but i guess itll do!

    Try the deckplate mod. It only cost me $8 and there is a noticable power increase.

    Trade your truck for v6. I had 2nd gen 2.7L I4, gutless... Traded for 2nd gen 4.0L v6 and never looked back. I4 no matter WHAT modification you do to it will NEVER have the low end torque of v6...

    I'm in the same boat but drive my truck in the RPM range that makes power when I need it. Is the funny face with middle fingers really necessary? :notsure:
