So i am upgrading to 2.5" piping after the second 02 sensor. I cant decide if i should mount the muffler right after the sensor and let the pipe run the length of the truck or mount the muffler farther towards the back under the bed-ish with a short tail pipe? what would sound better?

I would just do it back near the axle like stock. That way you can use the stock hangers. I don't think it would sound any different.
