replacing keyfob battery

    I relplaced the battery in my keyfob and now it won't work. Its a 01 tacoma quad cab with factory installed alarm system. Any help would be appreciated.

    Maybe it wasn't a bad battery. Maybe your fob needs replacing. I have replaced my 05 fob 3 times. Get them on ebay. Much cheaper than the dealer. I think I paid $20 or less.

    did you try reprogramming it? IIRC you have to do that after you change the battery in those things I had to do it for a friend's Ford ranger, but not sure how to do it on a yota.. mine's full manual locks/windows

    You can find instructions on here or online. Just do a search.

    I doubt it would need to be reprogrammed from a battery change.

    2001 tacomas did not come with factory keyless entry/alarm systems....I think EnolaGaia mentioned that in another thread

    My dad bought an 01 double cab and I accidently dropped it on the pavement and it stopped working walked across the street and bought batteries for it, but then had to take it to a local Toyota dealer and they had to reprogram it, needless to say while we were there we bout 4 extra fobs.
