Should i close off elbow with deckplate mod?

I done the deckplate mod to my 2.7 a couple monts ago, I was thinkin I might should close off the elbow so all of the air comes in through the deckplate but most all of the air proably comes in through the deckplate anyway because it is forced, any opinions

 

I don't think you need to shut off airflow from the original , unless its making your truck run lean...

 

i wouldnt. its cooler air than what comes in through the deck plate

 

Air will take the path of least resistance....which will be the hole from the deckplate.

 

It appears that the intake air temperature is less since I've done the deck plate mod according to my SGII and I am moving.
Hard to say for sure.
I did not remove the elbow since I might have a reason to put the deck plate in.

 

Thanks guys, thats what i thought janster, i figured 99% of the air would be forced through the deckplate anyways and i wouldnt matter what you did with the deckplate

 

I'm in the same boat, considering chopping the elbow instead of plugging it, though. That mod is similar to the deckplate install but doesn't increase airflow as much.
