Don't flame me! Looking for inspiration, this seems like the easiest way. If you post, I would appreciate manufacturer and model for the shell.

    TIA

looks good, is it color matched?

I'm debating whether color matched is the way to go or not. A big part of me thinks not. So, I was thinking black on silver would look good. I usually dig white toppers look good, but on a silver truck, I think it would be a bit washed out.

keep 'em comin' if you got 'em.

It is color matched I really like the color match look I'm not a big fan of the 2 tone look I think if you were to get a different color then body color it would look like you just bought one of Craigslist or something and not vehicle specific.

    That's just my opinion

Looks very good! I'm definitely digging the color match on those last pictures there.

Color matched is the only way to go IMO

Black topper on anything that isn't black would look cheesy and too "base model" IMO

Man, I just realized I don't have any current whole-truck shots in my gallery, but I don't have access to all my pix right now.

    here's mine...

with & without rack and from the back. snugtop (not sure which model) with sliding side windows... removable screens on the inside if I need to leave them open.

If you do a lot of loads, I recommend the side windows that fully open for easy access... I tend to have to crawl in the truck a lot to get items toward the front of the bed.

oh, and here's a shot of the "dry shelf" i installed. i plan to carpet to match the interior... reason for the shelf is to keep dry items up top and wet items (surfboards, wetsuits, etc) on bottom. also if the shell ever leaks when it rains, the things up top will stay dry.

if you really want some inspiration... here's some: http://www.bajataco.com/Camper1.html

How did you secure the platform?

My "Madjik Mod" is something similar only it uses a slightly elastic web that has clips on the corners which clip on to the c-clamps of the topper.

I'm trying to imagine what you did... do you have pictures?

The shelves are cut perfectly to sit on the ledges of the camper. I bored holes in the shelf where the j-clamps are so they go straight through. Then I clamp them down as if there weren't any shelves on it... just an extra lock washer on top and all is good! I'll snap some pictures sooner or later to explain it better.

thank you! i've had a couple campers and this one just fits my needs the best so far... a little older looking but it fits the lines of the truck well. word of advice, search craigslist daily and you'll find what you want... either that or go to a camper shell yard and have them throw a bunch onto your bed until you find one you like.

on the baja camper... that's exactly why i didn't build mine out like that... but it's sweet!
