biggest tire on stock

I have a 98 prerunner, stock suspension, stock wheels (16 inch). What's the biggest tire I can fit under there without any trimming? I don't mind a little rub when I'm turning as hard as I can.

I'm not so sure that a 16" rim was standard issue in '98, but I think that 32"x11.50x15" is the largest you can go without an issue.........

 

oh crap my bad fellas i do have 15 inch rims.

Naaww, thats what I ran when my TRD was completely stock (actually still running 32"'s BFG K/O's )

 

This is my stock 1998 TRD 4x4 with 32"x11.50x15". I get a little rub when turning the wheel hard to the left and going through a bump. I have not trimmed my wheel wells yet.

I don't have any wheel spacers or anything on my 1998 TRD. I trimmed my wheel well and no more rubbing.

 

wheel spacers are only to extend out your tires, but i think it will still rub on the fender. stick with 32s.

 

wheel spacers will do 2 things.
bring your wheel away from the frame. which is a great thing for wide wheels. noone wants to hit the frame when turning!
but they will also increase the distance the corner of your tire moves. so with wheel spacers (or rims with less back space) there will be more cutting of the wheel well then with a stock or closer to stock setup.

Do you think 32x10.50x15 would rub? I’ve gotta 95 Tacoma all stock and I want to put the biggest size I can on it without any rubbing or trimming involved
