You are welcome. It would be awesome if it could be done without completely removing the shaft.

btw: the guy that did the ttora write up is also a TW member. route1286 goes by the same name on here.

that doesn't look possible to do in the car without removing the column....the ignition and bracket at right at the joint that need to be welded, you wouldn't have access to it with everything still attached to the shaft

    Update:

There was a small mixup (no one's fault) and they ended up sending me the wrong sleeve. They sent me another short one when I really need the long one. Hopefully I see the correct one in the mail tomorrow or else Im stuck driving my mom's truck back to school on monday.

    I miss driving my truck:(

Sleeve is at my house and I had my mom confirm it is the right one. She said it fits snugly in the bushings but has a little bit larger inner diameter than the one I drilled. I think thats normal though so Im just going to install it this weekend and call it good.

I got all my bushings on today. It was a bit of a pita, but I got it done. I ended up crushing some of the threads on the tie rod bolt trying to get it off the steering knuckle. Took a dremel to it, but no dice. so, do I have to replace the entire end link? Or can I just replace that bolt?

need some advice. Hope your install went well for you with the new parts.

Not sure, I didn't mess with any of that stuff.
I got it all put back together on friday and drove it 90 miles back to school last night. Drives like a dream:D.

yeah, I ended up cutting off the top of the bolt today. I had to cut through the cotter pin hole, so it's really not a good solution, but I did get the nut back on. I just hope the truck will make it to the alignment shop without the tie-rod busting off so I can get it fixed and aligned.

I really wish I hadn't pulled the tie-rod off, but the directions in the bushing box said to take it off... fuckers...

wow, that's quite the write-up. The supplied instructions were a lot simpler than that.

I did not remove my sway bar, but did remove the tie-rod and the wheels. It seemed pretty self explanatory to me, just unbolt and replace the bushings, bolt back in place.

I will dbl. check my torque specs against the ones in that thread though, thanks.

    Pretty much stock right now
Did mine last wekend. I got the parts from Wheeler's (black polyurathane). No drilling. No tie rod ends undone. Only problem was pressing the bushings into the rack. They didn't want to go in willingly, but I used a wheel puller (in reverse), and in they went. Took some time to line up all the bolts, but it's done now. I'd rather not see the underside of my Taco again for a while, as this was a dirty job. But, I still have to free up my e-brake cable, so I will be back soon.

btw, the truck drives fine now. No play in the wheel at all.
