2001 Pre-runner: When I lock my doors the drivers side makes an awful sound. There is no sound when I unlock them. I cannot unlock my truck from the outside on the drivers side, I have to unlock them from the passenger side and then walk around. This is good practice when my g/f is with me bc she thinks i'm just being a gentlemen (she doesn't know the locks are messed up and I found no reason to tell her yet ;)). However it looks pretty funny when I am by myself and half to walk around the truck to unlock it. Anyone ever have this problem or know how to get it fixed?

Then I would say you need a new actuator.

Yep... Is it kinda a "quack" noise? Not really an accurate description but something along those lines. I helped a friend with a jeep that did the exact same thing. it was the actuator.

FWIW, I can find the rear ones at rockauto but not the front ones. Not sure why. Remember, they will be side specific.

My truck just started doing the same shit on the driver door.
It still works perfectly fine, besides the loud ass annoying quacking/buzzer
noise. These F'n actuators are pricey as shit from Toyota too.
I'd like to get an aftermarket actuator if possible somewhere
here in San Diego. Or order one online. However, I have not been able to locate one. Oh well...
