Alignment

How often do you do an alignment?

Stock size tires and suspension (TRD).

at least every time you replace the tires.

 

When you feel your truck pulling to either side when you drive.

getting mine done today for the first time since i've owned it....

 

I take my cars in for alignments when they need them. I don't take them in on a routine basis. It's not preventative maintenance.

 

Do you not consider it preventative maintenance to increase the life of your tires?

 

When i got my tires they told me every 5000 miles. That reminds me im a little overdue by a few thousand miles

 

thats just to make sure they are still aligned though

 

I could see (and recommend) rotating every 5000 miles - every oil change, but not an alignment. I couldn't imagine popping down another $50+ every time you changed your oil...

LOOK at your tires. Uneven tread wear, get your alignment checked out. If everything looks fine you're more than likely ok

 

I didn't, in any way, hint at an alignment every oil change. I did however, read an article that recommended one every year. I guess I am only curious because I've had a car with a bad alignment record before. When I did finally have it aligned i was stuck with tires that had a "whomp, whomp, whomp" tone (related to wear I couldn't SEE).

dont mean to set it in stone as far as pass fail with a visual inspection..just a good start i think

 

I wouldn't go as long as "Every tire change" or those tires changes will be closer together than needed.

I also would recommend the "life time alignment" from a place like Firestone...I got mine aligned 3 times in a week as I adjusted my lift and had it settle. Then I go if I can feel an issue or once a year...which ever comes first.
