Dude thats a sweet set up, just make sure thats all you want as far as lift in the end. Hear a lot of complaints out there about some of the set ups with OME 3" lift compared to true coilover set ups. The 5100's get great praise across the board, but that is if you set them below max hieght allowed. Just do your research so you dont end up swaping set up's down the line.

Will, have you decided on a lift yet? I'd hold off on buying shocks until you lift. But thats just me.

If your buying now, 5100s are the way to go man. Get them from Whthunter on ebay (I think you posted his link), I dont know if your on Toyota Nation or not but if you mention being a member there you can probably get like $10 of the price of the shocks. It aint much but every little bit counts.

What determines the ride stiffness of a lift/coilovers is the spring rate. Most coil overs have spring rates from 650 to 700 lbs. One reason I went with the OME springs is the 885's have a 590 lbs. rate and are longer. Only 40#'s over stock, so I dont have a harsh ride. :)
Also, most coil overs have their best ride @ around 2" lift. After that they get really stiff.

you say that...and then youre gonna be out on the trails and then youre gonna want more and more and then next thing you know your truck will be on blocks and have no ifs

i had spacers before i had my saws...and while the ride wasnt awful in general...the saws make them seem like the worst thing in the world

obviously plans change etc...but look 2 years down the road and where you want your truck to be and build around that plan...even if you have to put something off for a year

i think adjustable coilovers are a wise investment to anyone lifting a truck...they ride great...and with any of them you can start out at stock height until you want to lift the front a bit...with that kind of adjustment too youre not limited to 3 set heights...which is great if you are anal about the aesthetics of your truck...we all know leaf packs settle and eventually dearch...with adj you can keep your truck level...no matter how much your leaf packs settle
