i miss my 5100 and ome combo.

kyb monomax suck with Ome coil!

ordering now ome shock and making mechanic replace em. He talked me to the idea he could match a shock up with my 881. with kyb the dash gets slapped pretty hard with large bumps. And at speed on on rough hwys i consider this pairing dangerous with all the bounce and crazy rebound.

not sure how long the 5100's will hold up with Ome coil. The ride seemed kinda stiff at first but after awhile they loosened up with out bottom out jarring which I'M Getting now with monomax. Monomax is cool at slow speeds grandpa style and that is about it. and i'm sure they will be toast within 6 months.

Before June- ZUK springs in rear and 5100s up front.
So I called both the East and West divisons of Bilstein. East said stock springs. West said either eibach or hypercoils. He said those two because that is what most of the employees run with their Bilstein shocks. I think a comprehensive comparison should be done. If one has already been done then someone please post a link as my google-Fu seems to be failing me.

Same same. Well worth the investment in time and money. I've seen the comment that OMEs aren't recommended with 5100s quite a few times, but it's worked fine for me so far.

Didn't realize how old the rest of the thread was on my earlier response and that you have a 2d gen, so disregard that nugget (still true though).

To your question Charly I wouldn't think you "need" it at your mileage, and I'd be surprised if your stock struts are totally shot at this point as well. Struts/springs are a pretty easy DIY, so I'd start with new struts for a while and then add springs if new struts alone don't give you the ride you want. If your paying someone to do the work it is probably 1 or 1.5hrs labor at a shop (my guess) if you do struts/springs at same time. Will take basically same time to do struts and then again to do springs if you have them done separately (2-3 hours labor total.)

I did my new struts/springs at 150K miles and it was a definite improvement but the stock suspension was tired at that point.

    Thanks again for your reply.
So i will definitely start with just the four shocks first.
I still don t know again which brand that i will go for.
Here in my area i can get either the same originals one at my dealer of course, and at other places they sell Napa stuff,so Monroes,or KYB which i definitely will not go for.
The Monroes are more expensive then Bilstein 5100 stangely, but have a life time warenty, while the Bilstein 5100 only a three year time warenty.
    So i am still undecided,,lololo
Two days ago,i had to changed my batterie,Man, evrything together..lololo
Well at least it is in great order, except for my shocks that are due!
    All the best

Guess I'll throw in on this thread aswell. Been creeping around the forum for awhile. I'm getting a frame replacement on my 2002 XCab 2.7l and I need to do new shocks and springs. Definitely sold on the bilistien 5100s up front and the 5125s in the rear but I need to replace my coil spring not trying to lift the front anything over 2 inches "level" it out if anything. Thoughts? Input would be welcomed.

Same - I've had no issues with 5100s and 880s, much better than old stock setup. '03 4x4 DBL.

I did the 5125s and Wheelers 5-leaf for the back, along w/5100s and OME 880s in front. Maybe 1/2" to 1" lift overall from stock and sits fairly level with just a slight forward rake. I do have a shell on back so without it rake might be a bit more pronounced.

All good here with Bilstein adjustables in the front and 3" Eibach coils and Camburg UCA's. Then in the back normal 5100's and a 1.5" Pro comp AAL

I dont mean to Thread Jack here but..
Im about to order the 5100's all around with the AAL and Eibach springs as well since everyone recommends it for a "entry level" lift.. but just curious about the brake lines.. did any of yall get new brake lines?? Cause isnt it when you lift the truck you need longer brake lines?

I didn't and I have the same set up you are getting. But you do need longer shocks in the rear if you are going to add an AAL
