Ok, so after a couple of hours of searching, I still have yet to find anybody who did an install thread on Billy 5100s on a 1st gen. Can anybody help me out? I just got mine in today, and am planning on installing them and putting on a new set of tires Friday.

Ok first thing remove the three 14mm bolts at the top of the strut.
then remove the bolt holding the sway bar. Now remove the big bolt at the bottom on the shock I think it a 19mm it's might be a 21mm I don't remember. After that the strut should come right out.

You had to remove the sway bar bolt to get to the nut on the lower end of the shock? I didn't on mine as a standard open ended wrench would fit in there just fine and the sway bar really doesn't get in the way. Doesn't hurt anything though, although it might end up being a pain if the nut doesn't come off clean (and ending up twisting the ball forever).

I think it could of been done without removing it but we did anyway for more room.

You can get new coils if you want. But they are not required. Basically, just need the front 5100s, rear 5100s and an aal.

If you are only gonna do 2 at once, do the rears first. It won't hurt anything if you can't afford all 4 at one time.

just changed mine this weekend remove the sway bar disconnected the lower control arm with two nineteen millimeter bolts, made life alot easier... kept the tierod intact...still a pain to remove but a coil compressor helps to get some of the tension off of the spring

you can do the front without removing the sway bar or tie rod or anything. I used the toyota jack to push down on the UCA from the wheel well to get enough room to get the coil and shock back into position and the lower bolt to line up.

881 Front coils, Bilstien 5100's all the way front set to "0" Icon Dynamic's mini leafs in rear, stock tires.
I did replace the coils, and did did disconnect the the sway bar link It was a bitch getting the lower shock bolt back in, the sway bar disconnect helped, other than that it was a pretty simple install.
