A sad sight.

On my way to work I drive by a lot of metal recycling places and always see flat bed tractor trailers carrying crushed cars.The last 2 weeks I've been seeing our beloved 1st gen. tacos on board.R.I.P.

 

Yeah, that's a damn shame.

Makes me wonder what the percentage of trucks sold to those that have been crushed.....

5-10 years from now when people wanna find an older truck/tacoma to make into a trail rig....... it'll be slim pickings. And even so....you couldn't trust the frames even if you found one!! (or were willing to replace / repair the frame).

Makes me wonder if my old 96 went to the crusher....

 

My 95 Tacoma still shined like a new one, even with 159,000 miles it didn't burn a drop of oil. The dealer told me mine would be taken to a recycler in St. Clairsville, Ohio. He said they would take the gas tank off and then put it in a crusher. All those years waxing, changing oil every 3000...........just to end up being crushed. I don't understand why they are not parted out.

Wow...talk about weird. My 96 tacoma must have been listening.

My husband came home from work today and had to show me some pictures on his cell phone. Low & behold....my old 96 was parked in front of where he works. He stopped and snapped some pictures.

He said it needed a wax job - as the *red* was fading badly. But still looked about the same with even some of the old stickers on the windows in the back. That was 4 years ago that I sold it. Miss that truck....
