needing rear shocks....

    Ok, my new NAPA OEM replacement shocks are all the way extended... Any suggestions on a good +3" to +4" rear shock??? I have the 5100's up front...

    Any idea what OEM shock would fit that is just longer than a tacoma???

    Deaver j59 pack 2.5 SAW coilovers, rear bilstein 5100's. Extened stainless rear brake line, deck plate mod, drop in K&N filter, Kenwood headunit & pioneer speakers, SnugTop Shell.
    5100's or 5125's. Wheelers has them for you. I am running the 5100's and am very pleased with them. I think they have a member discount.

    I'm running 5100's all the way around. I only have a 1" lift on the rear though. I think the 5125's or 5150's are longer.

    The 5100's accommodate 0 to 3" of lift.

    OK, I am looking at the 5150's.

    My truck at ride height has my current shock at 19" center to center.

    What kinda shock travel do I need in all reality? I have a 1.5" shackle coming for the truck, and I am still in debate about that. I have the AAL already on the truck and its sitting just about level, so I will probably be putting the Shackle on so that I can haul stuff without the back being all squatted.

    This truck WILL be seeing some off road fun, along with being used to clear off 2 acres of wooded property.

    Basically I am looking at 2 different ones...

    14.17" Compressed / 22.5" Extended. 8.5" travel

    and the

    15.89" Compressed / 25.91" Extended. 10" travel

    Not sure which way would be better. Right now WITHOUT the Shackles I had to have my buddy sit on the tailgate to get the shocks back on. so the shorter ones will vie me 3" more downward travel...

    SO, I am looking at the idea that I will either be limited with 2-3" of downward travel with the shorter ones... or limited to 3" of Upward travel with the bigger ones...

    Anyone have any thoughts????

    You could measure each side when fully compressed and fully extended. Most accurate would be with the shocks removed. What is the maximum and minimum? The numbers will be different on each side.

    With those 4 measurements you'll know exactly which 5125 will fit the best and never over compress or extend.
