Just purchase a 2003 tacoma. there is an object on the roof attached to the rear brake light. Thought it could be a temp sensor but there is no display?? is it an extra antenna--sure has me puzzeled. Also, there are modules connected to the spark plug wires (passenger side only)- Where should I look for info-Nothing in the owners manual-FIGURES-is there ever.
    2003 tacoma 6cyl sr5 4x4.

What does the object look like? Is it an antenna? It could be a cell phone amplifier. Pictures?

    Small lift and a topper!
The modules on the spark plug wires are the coil-on-plug system, on that side the ignition coil for that plug is on the wire, instead of in one location elsewhere. Not sure about the object on your roof. ;)

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
It could be a satellite radio antenna I know XM had one back in the day I don't know if they still do.

I'm pretty sure it's the optional XM antenna, my truck has one too and I also do not have XM. Wait... THEY'RE TRACKING US!!! No seriously.

If it's a small 'wart' object with a wire leading behind the third brake light's seal, it's probably an aftermarket XM or Sirius antenna.

Satellite radio was not a factory option through 2004.
