Cruise Control for '96?

Hey there. I'm trying to retrofit a cruise control onto my '96 2.4 Manual.

Searching, I've found plenty of info here on modding the newer versions (don't need any links to that, thanks) and a tiny bit on the later 1st gens but about the main thing I can find on my year model is that the switches and controllers come in two styles so it's best to pull the OEM stuff together off of one vehicle, which is not too practical in my case.

Oh, and also that those years had faulty OEM cruise controls.

I've looked into the Rostra systems and it appears that only the universal kit is available for my year.

SO, my questions are:

• Anybody done it on their '95-'97?
• Aftermarket or OEM recommended?
• Good source for parts
• Anyone found a writeup on it?

Doesn't anybody have any info on this? It seems like it must have been done before.

In the absence of any help, I'm about to buy OEM parts used, but don't know if they will be problematic due to original problems.

I also am not sure how many parts I need - I think three main ones, the stalk, the control module and the actuator, but then also the clutch switch for me.

Anything else? Any pitfalls to going this route if all comes from the same vehicle?

I understand that the 95.5-97 are all the same, correct?
