My Rig: 2004 xtra cab, prerunner, 2x4 2.7L 4 banger. Stock suspension. ( soon to be billys front and rear with some new leafs when funds permit. ) Maybe hit 1.5" lift all the way around maximum. Truck is a freeway/city queen with light off road use.

Im looking at the procomp series 98 in a 15x8.6 with 4" BS and thinking of wrapping them with some yokohama geolander A/T-S tires in a 265/70R15

Currently the truck has the stock 16's on it with some random no name brand korean tires in a 265/70R16 that the previous owner put on . With even the slightest of rain/water on the asphalt they lose traction immediately ( we been having some crazy storms this week and it hasn't been very fun ). They also rub slightly at full lock and on some inclined driveways.

The yoko tires decent ? am i crazy for going with 15's ? Is there a different tire size i can cram under the truck on 15's without rubbing ? Ive used the tire calculator and tried about every combination i could think of. Thanks for reading.

There's nothing wrong with getting 15's.. IMO stick with 16s but thats just me.... and i haven't heard anything bad about those tires.

Well i have 15x10's on 33x12.5's on a 4x4 with a 3' lift and i had miner cutting to the pinch weld and no rubbing a full lock.

As you can see in the image below there is about 1" clearance at full lock

These tires are monsters and they fit like a glove.

    Personally i think 15's look better on a 1st Gen then 16's IMO and 16's for a 2nd Gen

Damn. Those tires ARE friggin monsters. If i didnt drive about 50 miles a day on the freeway, id love to go a more aggressive off-road tread pattern. I think im gonna pull the trigger on both the wheels and tires.

OEM roof rack, Shorty antenna (eBay), soft tonneau cover, K&N drop in air filter, bed mat, interior LED lights, 5100's, MT tires to come soon!!!
    I'd get 265/75 16 which is just about a 32 11.5 or get a 32 11.50 15 if you decide on the smaller wheel.

I have 265 75 16 and my tire guy told me that this size was alot easier to find and in alot hight demand so the prices would be cheaper!

Really? I got my 33's for less then 265x75x16's in the same brand tire the 33"x12.5x15's were $155 each and the 265x75x16's were $176 each.

Actually in all the research ive done on both 16 and 15 inch tires and wheels, the 15's are ALWAYS cheaper in both respects. Will a 10 - 11.5 inch wide tire fit under stock height suspension without major clearance issues ?
