Lawman, can you tell me the dimensions on yours? I am looking to do the exact same thing, but am not at all handy. I can copy other peoples work though...

    Thanks.

Looks awfully clean for having dogs...

    Just sayin'...

    :)

I did something similar with my old Extra Cab. I've considered doing the same for my double cab, but I usually just end up with a duffle bag on the floor, and lay out a dog bed on top to give my pooch a little more room on the seat.

I am just now seeing this and I made a similar one for my truck a month or two ago. I haven't put any carpet on it but I like that idea. I also put a 2" foam pad over it and the dog does a pretty good job back there. He certainly has more room to stretch out but really likes the passenger seat where he can stick his nose p to the vents. I might try to make mine bigger (more to the front) but both of my seats go back and my center console is part of the drivers seat which is a PITA too!

    Awesome job!

Here is how I made mine. I added tie down loops for cargo or tether my dogs harness to.

Not sure, but I can measure it... You might want to measure your own truck. I left room so I could mount a couple things on the front so may want yours to come out to the front more.

^ Exactly. Measure your own truck. Everyone will have a different objective in mind.

I also had to test measure and re-cut a few times to get the center hump to fit right. Along with the outer edge that has a couple of high spots.

That's about the only use for the back of the extended cab in my opinion other than storage, not a good place to put people, too cramped, the seats are horrible, and too difficult getting in and out. I need the storage too, and after a few years of fine tuning, this setup has been what I've used for the last 5 years.
    image.jpg image.jpg
Now my tool box is out of sight, my recovery gear is always stowed in the cab where it'll stay dry, and my rain gear and work wear is always dry and stowed. I've put a lot of weight on the bench many, many times, including two tool boxes weighing 40 lbs each, a 6 tool Makita cordless kit, my bags and whatever else I could fit so it works great to store tools in the cab when the bed is full of materials, and Lola has logged thousands of miles in her back seat on her Costco inflatable pet bed, she insists on comfort.

There are some really nice ideas people have come up with on here, and many have made the fit and finish look a lot nicer than mine, makes me want to redo mine, I plan to use aluminum channel and t bar in place of the 2x4 and bolt it in after I remove the seats, then use rip stop nylon covering foam pad on top of 5/8 plywood to make it look finished like many did, but that's another $100 to add to the list

Mine is the same way. she is a chow hound...give her a bowl of food, and she gobbles it up and wants a bite of my dinner. I NEVER feed her off the dinner table. I do save a snack for her. And yes, my Lab goes crazy for any water.
She's away for pro training right now...and I miss the heck out of her right now.

Ahhh, she's a cute dog, I miss when mine was that young, such a fun age though mines a puppy still at age 6. She gonna be a gun dog? Mine does upland, never got her into ducks, she'd need a lot of work, but I trained her on hand signals and she's a hell of a field dog, great retriever, just runs and runs.

I don't feed her off my plate, sometimes give her a bite when I'm done and getting up from the table. I can't even stand it when she begs, but she's pretty good, she stays on her bed at least, but so hard to resist that face, I'm sure many on here know with their own dog!

I laugh about it a lot, I actually made a portion of my truck dedicated to my dog's comfort, she doesn't know how good she's got it!

image.jpg She's only in training for obiedance this month. Although they work with Her on retrieving a little. She is a retrieving machine. Her mom & dad are both hunters. I don't get out enough to probably make it worth it. But I'll take her in the field this year if I get a chance on Quail or Dove shoot.

She's spolied and also doesn't know how good she's got it. I've made accommodations in the truck and our home for her. Heck, we are building a new home and seems half the decisions are based on my dogs needs .
