I was wondering if anyone knew of a company that builds the jeep style front double tube bumper (the one with the hoop) that would fit my 04 PreRunner. I know that I could have a shop build one for me, I was just curious if there was a company out there that already does that.

    Thanks for the help

The double tube bumper for jeeps is usually manufactured by Smittybilt, google them they probably have other apps.

I'm talking about the first one in the jeep picture. . .

And yes, Smittybilt does have a lot of that style, but it looks like it's mostly for jeeps. I'm not sure about the compatibility with a Tacoma. Something I could email and ask I suppose.

Sterling Equipment here in Umatilla Florida makes them. They make great stuff, and they are great people to deal with, my brush guard was made by them back in 97 and it is strong. They powder coat on site, or can send it out for chrome, or can just sent it to you unfinished if you want to coat it with paint or bed liner stuff.
    The web site is sterling-equipment.com
They make winch mounts, light mounts and all kinds of stuff, its all what you want to do with it.

Well in my opinion I don't think that style flows with the taco front end but I like to be proven wrong lol. I just noticed your from tn so I'm sure there's a metal fab shop that could custom make one if you can't find one. BTW what part of Tenn u from?

Yeah, i guess I'm just looking for something different that you usually don't see. I haven't completely decided yet, so we'll see I guess. I'm from Sevierville, TN but going to school in Knoxville.

Coming from the jeep world, I will tell you those tube bumpers are junk. They are weak and bend easily, don't have D-ring mounts, and god forbid you get moisture inside the tubes, they just disintegrate. Same with tube stepsides. Get a quality prerunner style maybe, but those cheap smittys and westins are paper thin.

I agree with what Betard posted. I also came from Jeeps and the first one I bought had the dual tubes bumpers you are looking for. The first time I took it out I had to pull my friend out of iced over snow and I ended up have to yank him out. The rear bumper mounts took the brunt of the force and were bent pretty bad. The plus of them bending was my spare didn't rattle anymore because of it sitting snugly on the bumper.

Would anyone happen to have any pictures of this style of bumper on a 1st gen? I've been looking online, but the only ones I've found are on older models.
