Mine must have already been tight, because when I turned the ratchet, the head broke off the bolt  Now I have to take the door panel off, and I don't know how I'm going to get it out

My window rattles if it is anything but completely open or completely shut. Annoying as can be. I tightened the bolt that worked for most folks to no avail. Does this sound to everyone else like the window trim that surrounds it is shot? It doesn't look bad and a replacement trim is around $100.

I only ask to repist the picture because when I click on any of the previous pictures it says that the picture is no longer in data base.... also it rattles when I let it down a few inches but when its around half way down it didn't rattle anymore, driving me crazy lol

Wanted to give this past a bump and add a pic as it has fallen off. It's really the only bolt there. Glad I googled it as I was about to take off the door panel. Such a easy fix. This is an 04 BTW

I was about to take my door a part. Glad I seen this thread, that bolt was really loose. Tighten it up and no rattle!

Sorry if there is another more current thread about this. I had the rattle like the rest of you, but when I went to inspect that bolt I noticed I don't even have one and it's just a vacant hole. I went to the passenger side and removed the bolt on that side (since I hardly use that window) only to go back to the driver side and notice whatever is inside the panel holding that bolt is no longer there. Does anyone know what's inside the panel holding that bolt in? Obviously the remedy is to take off the panel and replace or find the missing part but was wondering if anyone had this same experience.

    Thanks

On my 95, the bolt screws into the bottom of the window channel to secure it inline up and down. Just imagine the edge of the window sliding up and down a channel for direction, the channel at the very bottom is what this screw holds. Mine would definitely move to one side or the other with the bolt out, in fact that's how I got to my door lock assembly to remove and lube and clean to keep from breaking the external door handle and yes you have to remove the door panel to access the bottom of the channel to hold it in line with the hole to put the screw back in place if it's shifted out of place.
