my driver side window rattles when i lower it

are there clips that commonly break on these things?

what about lubing them up? my passenger side goes up and down fairly slowly

any links for removing the door panels?

    thanks

OME all around. SPC UCA. This and that.
X2 on that fixed mine last week. When you take apart the door their is a clip in top corner closet to the front of the truck. This looks like a button. In the middle of this clip their is a "spike", you must remove the spike bofre you can get the button off. I just broke this clip and ordered a new one from the dealer for a couple of bucks. I don't even know if you can get it out with out destroying it. Oh buy the way this is on a 1997 sorry I don't know what your door looks like.

I think in 02 your panel should pop off without needing any new clips or anything. Mine does for 03. But don't take the panel off if you don't need to.

Haha, it took me 3.73 seconds and 1.5 calories to fix it. A single bolt on the edge of the door.

Mine only does it when the window is just cracked open, half way down or more... All the way down and up I don't hear it rattle. I'll have to see if the bolt trick works, if not then I'll see about taking the door panel off.

Mine rattled only when it was all the way down also. I tightened the bolt on the door and it fixed it. Haven't done anything besides that. If you take the panel off you will have to take off the plastic liner under it and it's still hard to see much under there.

Ha torque. When it's tight it's good enough. No reason to get out a breaker bar and jump on it.

Well all-right now! I have been troubled with the terrible noise when shutting the door with the window down. I was like others and was about to take the door panel off to see what was lose when I ran across this thread and wa-la!!! Tightened up the bolt and no more rattle when shutting the door with the window down! Sounds like a new truck door shutting. Thanks very much shitroc for the quick and easy fix!!! This is what this site is all about...people sharing knowledge! :)
