help me pick my new tires!

well the time is coming for some new tires. I bought my truck with 235s....which are extreemly small. I plan on getting either 265s or 275s. would 275s even fit? vote in the poll to help me decide on my new tire! im open to suggestions as well




EDIT: im getting new rims as well. Probably some wheelers alloys.

 

265/75/16 is the biggest you can fit on stock suspension. It will still rub a tiny bit on the frame though.

looks like you are specifically looking for a mud tire, but if not you should look into the goodyear wrangler duratracs.

ya i have a A/T right now and its ok, but all we really have around here is mud and a few rocks here and there. so im lookin for somethin a bit more agressive. i have seen the duratracs and i was gonna add them to the poll, but there so similar to what i have now i thought i would put a few different options up

 

also these tires might see a little snow. I know mud tires arent great in snow but i hope they do ok

 

Just got BFG TA KM2's on my truck 265 70 17 they look pretty awesome going from those lame Bridgestone HT tires, they is a little noise but not very bad at all. got Wranglers on my Ford work truck and they look good but wear really bad. (Also are several hundred more than the KM 2's). You can read pleanty of reviews online, I think the KM 2's get the higher rating most cases and I think they look a lot better.

 

Going to a wider tire isn't going to help in the snow either.

Oh and my vote is for BFG AT KO, or General Grabber AT2's. Unless you never drive on asphalt.

 

Not a lot of selection in the 275 range, most go from 265 to 285.

x2, skinnier tires work better in the snow... why is someone from Hawaii telling you this i'm sure you are asking... I lived in Canada most my life and we would always go with 255 or 265 33" tires on our farm trucks for the 9 months of snow we have a year. Wider doesn't always work better in the mud, unless you can't get to a hardpan underneath you want something that will cut through the mud same theory with wet. Wider only works better on the sand and thick mud.

the at2's are an all terrain, they are pretty much identical to the bfg all terrains

 

Just got Hankook Dynapro ATM's. Love them. Very aggressive tread and great price.

 

I chose the KMs (not "2s"). There is only one size of those still sold, its 255/75-17. This is a 32" tall tire about 10" wide. It's what I run.

KM's or Dynapro MT's. Im not a fan of the new KM2's... or if your a baller, get some Toyo Open Country MT's

 

Yep, why I suggested both of them. Basically AT2's are the poor mans BFG AT KO's. BUT with a 60k mile warranty. My BFG's wore very well, have heard others haven't. Thats why I like the warranty with the AT2s.
