hard tu push clutch pedal

Hi guys, need some input from all of you.

My truck is a 95.5 tacoma 4wd 2.7L reg cab, the issue with it, is that the clutch pedal is very hard to push in, I'm having to have a foot massage done on my foot every night.

The clutch does not slip, nor is it hard to shift, it's actually pretty good, except for that.

what options do I have?

This is my 7th toyota truck I've owned (and my first tacoma), and not one of them was the clutch hard to push in.

I really love this truck, but the pain in my foot is starting to get to me.

please advice...

 

have you checked the fluid level?

 

yes, the fluid level is normal, and the color is still light amber looking.

 

would be the clutch master or slave cylinders

 

one of them is wearing out?

would a full bleed of the system work?

 

Is the clutch original? and has it always been this way?

 

My Dad's Chevy S10 clutch is the same way...I think it's normal...You get a pretty good calf workout haha...

 

All the manual tacos I have had had stiff clutches. Thats why I went with the auto.

 

lol, then you should try driving an old ford bronco with a mechanical clutch. I almost sent the pedal through the firewall on my Sonoma when test driving it it was so easy to push. My taco feels the same as the sonoma.

 

I have had several yotas, and none had stiff clutch pedals, as a matter of fact they were pretty light.

I did had once a 96 ranger 4wd, v6, the clutch on that one was even harder to push in.

do you think the pressure plate if I chage it out it will get better? I seriously doubt that its the slave or master cylinder...

 

my 99 had a hard pedal, my 01 has a soft pedal, my guess is possible tension of the return spring.....

 

Mine seems tough too, left ankle/calf gets a workout since I have a long drive in bad traffic after work (where I'm on my feet all day driving while standing up LOL)

 

I have a similar problem with 03 tundra. the clutch was doing fine and last couple of day the clutch got real hard to push and barely made it home last night no clutch at all. I figured one of the slaves gave out. anyone have any other ideas

 

I have the same issue only mine is very hard to shift now before it was very easy to push the clutch in its a new performance clutch don't remember what type specifically it only has a couple hundred miles on it it recently got hard to push in but shifting wasn't an issue up until about 2 hours ago now it's insainly hard to push in and to change gears someone know what's going on?

 

Over center spring on the clutch pedal assembly?
