what's the difference

can anyone tell me the difference between the sr5, limited, and prerunner packages? i can't figure it out

 

SR5 and Limited are dress packages, a Pre-runner is a 2wd built on a 4wd platform (2wd 6-lug). Not sure about 1st Gen, but the SR5 package on the 2nd Gen adds cruise control and I believe changes the seat fabric, etc. I don't believe there is a limited in the 2nd Gen, hopefully someone with 1st Gen experience can help you out with that one. The Pre-Runner is the type of truck and is not related to the dress packages.

As already mentioned - PreRunner is a model, not an option package. The 2003 Double Cab was available in 2WD (PreRunner) and 4X4 versions.

There were 2 SR5 packages and one Limited Package. Here (below) are the summaries from the factory literature ...
