mud in winter bad?

my friend got stuck so i went to the rescue, truck got muddy of course but the underbody of the truck is what im worried about. Its not thick nasty mud its just a water mix with mud, more water than anything. It froze, should i be concerned about it? i tried to get as much off as i could but its to cold.

yeah but everything around here is solid ice.. do i worry about it ?

 

Next time you're on a paved road, the salt bath will take care of any ice on the undercarraige.

 

haha its not that im gonna loose sleep over it i was just concerned since its frozen n stuff maybe it could damage something.

Run her through a car wash if you're overly concerned.

 

like mentioned above, it protects it from the salt.

Its when you come in at 3 am from winter wheeling hood deep holes and wake to go to work to find the mud and water have frozen your brakes SOLID and the truck will not move. That is when you get into trouble. Sounds like you are gonna be just fine.

And if he's that worried....while at the carwash, have a raincoat and a creeper (to lay on) and roll yourself under the truck and wash underneath it.

Now, I just hit up the local carwash that has an underbody blast.

To the OP - what's REALLY REALLY bad, is hitting mud holes that are 'frozen'. When you break the ice and continue into the mud hole, the broken up chunks of ice are EXTREMELY bad and breaks things (especially if its thick ice).
