well took my truck for an extended test drive yesterday, all highway over 65mph for about 15 miles to test the flat spot theory. When i went back into town to be able to get down to 30-40 mph again, the vibe was still there so it can't be flat spots cuz it was warmer yesterday and it had ample time to warm up. Its gotta be either balance again or something within the front end...

taking it to the toyota specialist shop that does everything for me and that sold me the truck to see if they can find anything. Apparently my mom's old land cruiser had the same issue and they did somethin to fix it.

    another update on the issue...

had the shop check the front end to make sure everything was tight and to rotate the tires, they did and the vibe between 30 and 40 remained after the rotation which you would think would dissappear when diff tires were placed on the front. Guy who owns the shop told me to get them road forced again b/c he thinks they were out of balance again. Got them road forced yesterday and the tech said that one of the tires was off by 2 ounces and it was one that was on the back, therefor that was one that was on the front before so should be problem solved. Well the vibe is still there although less intense, so it can't just be balance it has to be something in the front end suspension wise idk.

you guys opinions on a diff drop perhaps helping???

I feel ur pain, not sure what it is. However, I hope someone know what it is. ( p.s. I just had new tires installed, balanced and had the truck aligned). Also it's for a 2nd Gen truck

As a matter of interest, any unusual wear on the tyres? Cupping, feathering, uneven wear? How much tread is left on the tyres?

My thoughts were with the temp of the tyres needing to get warmer to smooth out. Extended drive should have helped that though, so wondering about tyre/wheel condition.

Have you checked for excessive run out, tyre out of round?

Just a few groggy thoughts this AM.

PS Glad you are posting updates with what you find, try and the results. What makes this board good as others can maybe find a solution to a vibration issue with thier truck later down the road from what you've posted. Thumbs up to you!
