    LOL! Not to mention I had to take that 2000lbs up and over a 10 inch curb and a field of large river rocks to get it to where it needed to be.

    Look at what STLharry said in the "Tacoma-why do you own yours" thread-post#30

    STLharry-
    {QUOTE Well I wanted a pickup truck for work (hauling equipment/wood/etc), wheeling, and to get to the mountain with 6"-2' of snow on the roads.

    As for pickup trucks, mostly because of the size, IMO the 1st Gen Tacoma (Xtra cab) is the perfectly proportioned pickup truck. Nothing is too long, short, wide, or ugly. It's also a Toyota...

    Great platform for mods (already said)

    Most guys that see me drive up and get out just happen to say "nice truck" for some reason... END QUOTE}

    hmmmmm...

    Ok, you caught me. I love Toyotas. But I also seem to have stated my opinions about some trucks in the wrong place. My problem is that I think pickup trucks should have a smaller cab (2 or 2+ suicide doors), a bed you can fit things in, and a manual transmission. I have a toolbox, which makes my bed around 5' long, and I take it out practically every other day because I need the extra foot for stuff. But call me an asshole if you want.

    Trucks should be made to haul stuff, not people. 4 door pickups are sort of the opposite, especially compact ones, so I don't like them and I think they are sort of pointless. Carry people in an SUV or wagon. As you can see by that other post, I'm referring to my size not a DC. I try to stress functionality...My truck hauls the mowers/equipment, duck boat, firewood and mulch and compost without sagging (thanks OME), over $2k of ski equipment, and enough guns/ammo for a weekend. It has taken me to the mountain with 2 feel of snow on the road and up any hunting trail. Perfect size for me.

    I'm not going to get into a forum fight over these trucks. That doesn't help anything. I try to keep my opinions quiet on here because everybody's just trying to enjoy their Toyotas (and there are some SICK DC builds *cough*mikesdoublecab*cough*), but it slips sometimes. My bad if I offended people.
