I searched but all the threads that I found about the 4wd not working said the light didn't turn on either.

I had the transmission replaced a few weeks ago and the 4wd worked prior to that. Now of course we are getting a blizzard and the 4wd isn't working. The 4wd light comes on when I hit the button and I hear a relay click but that's about it. The front wheels don't spin at all. I tried putting it in 4-low and not much is happening up front at all.

There wasn't much I was able to check because there is a few inches of snow and I don't have a garage to work in. The truck is pretty much stock.

Dropped the truck off and they pulled the front 4wd electric motor and said it was stuck and had to be cleaned up. I guess the 4wd sat unused for a while. Hopefully this thread is useful to someone since there wasn't another one about the light being on but the 4wd not working.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
The light is triggered by a switch in the transfer case.
