I have an 03 dc TRD 4x4 and i plan on lifting it with billy 5100's on all corners as well as an AAL in the rear, I wanna know if 285's will fit without any rubbing? Can you post pics of your rig with this setup or a similar one? all info is greatly appreciated!

Here is my old setup. 285/70/17. Bilsteins were set at 2.5" with a 1.5" AAL. They didn't rub much after I trimmed but near the end they were rubbing a lot. I switched back to 265 ATs.

Thanks. As much as I loved the way it looked, I ended up hating my Mud Terrains. I hated the sound of the rubbing and just got a headache from the constant noise of the tires.

Here was mine with 285's.....at the time had 2.75" front lift with 2" AAL out back. No rubbing except at full lock on frame. Not bad rubbing tho. My CV's weren't gonna last long though with that much lift.

No trimming...only rubbed on the frame and only at full wheel lock. But, glad I went to 265's for my purposes...but I will admit I kinda miss the look.:D

    Better than stock for sure.

I now have Bilsteins set at 0" with OME 881 coils. I recommend this setup, I like it a lot. Better than Bilsteins with stock coils.

X2, I did the same thing you did. Went from 285s to 265s. But I like the way it drives now. I see we have the same suspension too!

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I have 5100s with Eibach coils and AAL out back and 33x12.5's and I just rubbed up front on the fender until I cut a lot off.

Thats the setup I was thinking about going with, well the whole OME setup from wheelers off road. I was thinking of either that kit or coilovers either kings of icon. I want to get a full 3 or close to it. I know with your setup they have the trim packer kit for OME coils.

Just put 285's on mine. Lil rubbing at fenders during articulation, not bad at all. Pinch weld mod fixed most. I have no frame rubbing, maybe cuz my wheels have 4" bs not 4.5" like most. I have like 2.25" lift, maybe settled to 2" and I'm glad I stepped up from 265s. Just my 2 cents.

Ya I will get one for ya soon. They don't stick to far at all the rims are only 4" bs so that's only a 1/2" per side. The 285's are a lil wider also though. I did just a lil trimming with a dremal then based the pinch weld over flat with a BFH, painted it and that's all. Google tacoma pinch weld mod. Think it was customtacos that had a good lil right up. TTORA has one too, or a link or something. Very easy. My tires rub just a hair at full articulation on the fender flares. Not enough to worry, I will trim a touch more one day. On the road no rub after pinch weld mod.

Ya Mudders do hum, and the larger pigs will make a lil bit louder rubbing sound when they do rub. But its not the tires that cause u to rub more in the end, it seems to me that it would be the coils are worn or sagging. Did u put stock coils on the billies....some ome coils or such would have helped.
