well this is what i get for replacing it and being distracted with listening to football. I just put in the last 5125 shock and i over tightened the lower nut and it snapped. damnit. what is the best way to dethread it if one can do it or do i have it towed to auto repair place?:(

I did the same thing to mine. I took off the U-bolt bracket and drilled a small hole in the center of the bolt and put a punch (I guess thats what its called) in the drill and slowly backed the bolt back out.

x2, and you will be fine driving with one shock as long as you don't hit the freeway so no need for towing.

You're going to need some heat and probably one of those easy out things.

torque wrench in hand but didn't pay attention. was listening to greenbay and eagles game.i just got a Bolt Extractor 7/16-9/16" from Autozone. I'll be working on this tomorrow, may call in sick seeing that DFW may have freezing ice tonight and all morning long.

Well Im not sure where to get a bolt in your area. I just went to my local hardware store and bought the same grade 8 bolt only longer, and put some spacers on it and it works perfect.
