Installed my Detroit Truetrac Thursday Night

Finally did it! I installed a True trac in my 04 Prerunner Thursday night. It took about 3 1/2 hours using the online service manual as a guide. It works just like they say...seemless engagement and you don't notice it's there. It does leave a nice double burnout in the gravel

Actually the install guide tells you to test it in gravel. One tire at a time on gravel with the other on pavement. I just threw that test in for poops and grins.

I have mixed feelings about testing it in snow since I hate winter but we'll see.

You want to see a pic of my rear end? It doesn't look quite like the one in your avatar. It looks like a differential. It doesn't change the look of it.

I'll see if I can figure out how to get pics posted of the truck later on today. Nothing spectacualr except 25000 miles so it's pretty clean.

great job getting it installed man!!! be sure to put some weight in the bed when you have snow...............you'll have way better grab and wont spin as much. what gear oil are you using now??
