6x9 Rear speakers for '97?

Hi guys, as you can see i am new here. I bought a pair of Pioneer 460w 6x9 speakers (TS-A6993R) for my mother's car (an '04 civic) and it turned out they won't fit. I only paid $40 for them (thanks Amazon), so i would hate to return them. Instead, i want to put them in the back of my taco, which has stock 6.5s. Here's what i'm looking for:

1. Steps on removing the side wall panels.
2. Ideas on how to mount the speakers, since the 6x9s obviously aren't meant to fit the mount for a 6.5.

ps, sorry for my noobishness. I couldn't find anything conclusive, so i started a thread.

the rear panels are super simple just take a flathead and pry the grill out its ridiculously easy. then your gonna have to to some metal mod our get an adapter plate that parts onyou but the grills are super simple.

 

well i get that part... but i'm saying i need to get the whole wall off so i can mess with the panel that the speaker is mounted on. i'm guessing there are a couple of screws near the floor and the rest is probably clips... i just want to make sure i don't miss anything.
