weird. And you're sure the grabbing still happens when everything is up to operating temp? I know mine can have a slight grind when going into 2nd, especially when cold.

yeah if its only 2nd gear its probably not the clutch. Maybe you could try changing the tranny fluid to synthetic (redline MT-90 or Amsoil).

The only problem with that oil is that its GL-5 which is not so good for the brass syncros in the tranny and can cause them to corrode. The redline or amsoil will be GL-4 which is safe to use with brass.

Oh and the axles and transfer case are fine for at least 60k with that oil.

Maybe the "Slave Cylinder" When you say bitting do you mean it hard to shift out of a certin gear? Cause I just bought a 1996 2.4 4cyl tacoma. and it does the same thing. Does any one know if all clutch fluid is the same cause my grandpa said toyota might use a certain kind and if I don't use the right one I can contaminat the whole "system".
