The other day while I was switching out radios and unhooking the two lower 12v accessory plug connectors I must have shorted something out. Now neither of the lower plugs work and the light around the shift knob is not working. However the upper 12v accessory plug works just fine. They must be on separate fuses. My question in where is the fuse located for these plugs. I checked the fuses inside and all appear to be fine so it must be under the hood. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I think there are two fuses, one inside one under the hood.

Sorry to bring up a old post. How does the panel the 2x 12v plugs are in come off? I'm putting a switch for my toolbox lights and foglights but cannot figure it out.

There are two plastic "plugs" on it. One on either side on the forward side of it. There is a center piece to them that you have to poke in with a pen or something of that nature. Then you can just pick out the entire thing and it should pop out when you pull straight out toward the center console.

To put it back together, pop the panel back in place so its locked in. Then take the plugs and pull out the center pin and put the outside portion back in the panel. Than take the inside "pins" and pop them into the plugs and it will lock it in.

Hope that helps, but those things are a little hard to explain via text haha.

Front dome light added, light reminder added, door chime mod, added 2nd gen 4runner headrests, grey wire mod, 2lo mod, more later.
The 12volt lower plugs have a fuse or breaker in the engine compartment fuse panel.
